Backdoor.Agobot.y is another worm from the family of AGOBOT. Backdoor.Agobot.y is known to be distributed through P2P file sharing software. Once installed on your machine, Backdoor.Agobot.y will generally connect to an IRC server. Once it connects to IRC, the Backdoor.Agobot.y will be able to receive commands from its author, and can be used to launch destructive denial of service (DoS) attacks from your computer. Additionally, Backdoor.Agobot.y incorporates backdoor capabilities, allowing an attacker direct control of your computer and any information stored on it, such as your personally identifiable information. Note, that Backdoor.Agobot.y and its variants are reported to disable legitimate anti-spyware and anti-virus programs.
